Thinking in Canon is a didactic concert based on the Canon form. Works by Telemann, Bach, Haydn, Mozart, Reger, Hindemith and more
A Canon is a type of piece in which two or more voices play the same music starting at different times. It sounds like a chase in which one of the instruments copy everything the other does. It was also a good challenge for composers and a riddle for musicians: sometimes composers ask them to guess where to start playing!
Didactic concert for children aged 6 to 12 in Cerezales del Condado, León – Spain.
We performed music from different periods: Baroque (Corelli, Vivaldi, Bach), Classicism (Mozart, Haydn, Beethoven), Romanticism (Paganini, Brahms, Dvorak), XIX Century and Contemporary (Bartok, Shostakovitch). We also played different styles: Jazz, Gipsy, Tango, Celtic, Klezmer, Pop and Film Music.
The performance is supported with explanations and a projection showing the historic context of each period, musical features and main composers.
