From the very beginning young violinists should play as much as possible with others, but in most of cases this opportunity only happens with the teacher during the lesson. They spend the whole week playing (hopefully!) at home so the time for their violin lesson must be a time to enjoy making music, even when practising scales and studies.
If you play the piano and you can use it everywhere you teach, please do that! But thinking of the majority of lessons that happen in schools, privately, etc., you won’t have a piano or keyboard, so the violin duet becomes a great opportunity to make music. And so, all the music you’re going to find here is for two violins. Some of the pieces are originally written for these instruments, others are arrangements of 2nd violin parts in order to accompany the solo violin.
All the original works in our page have been collected from other sites or found in antique bookshops so they are no longer protected by copyright and can be freely distributed. Please, if you find a piece of music with copyright let us know and we will immediately remove it from the site.
