We group our violin ensemble lessons by age rather than level, so we sometimes end up teaching students of very different abilities together. The only way to do this successfully is to arrange the music to suit everyone. This arrangement of Paganini's Caprice 24 is always one of the greatest hits between our students. There's the Theme, that can suit intermediate students, and then 9 variations going from open strings to 3 octave arpeggios. The intermediate variations use simple notes but complex rhythms to develop timing skills too, and playing some of them simultaneously is a real challenge!
You can download the arrangement here.
We hope you find this arrangement useful and you can have as much fun as we do in our group lessons with it!
